Texture: Fine and uniform.
Properties: Yellow Cedar has about the same density as cherry. It is very stable wood and will hold its shape with little to no shrinkage. This wood is exceptionally easy to work with and finishes to a smooth surface. It's nice wood for carving or lathe work, also glues well.
Uses: Masting, spars, deck and hull planking, hull timbering and carving.
