The Henry Rogers Collection

Henry Rogers bought his first Admiralty model the ROYAL WILLIAMS, a 100 gun ship of the line sometime around 1916, and continued buying Admiralty models until around 1932. The average priced paid by Rogers for a model was $5,000.00. Colonel Rogers housed part of his collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art until the entire collection was moved into a private museum located on his estate named Port of Missing Men. When Colonel Henry Huddleston Rogers died in 1935 at the age of 55 he bequeathed his collection to the United States Naval Academy Annapolis MD.
